Homer Dog Training

I’m using this page for Homers hunting trips. We really had a great time this year with Dove and Waterfowl. Due to a record dry winter last year, the quail hunting here in Western Arizona was the worst I’ve ever seen.

Homer and I had our first live hunt September 1st  2006. It was opening day, first season dove. We had a good crew of guy’s out and several dogs.  All the commotion left Homer a little bewildered at fist. Birds flying, guys shooting  and dogs retrieving in all directions. Homer failed to mark  my first 5  birds, I had to walk him out to the and tell him fetch it up.

On the 6th bird he started to REALLY pay attention to where I was looking and shooting,. He made a good mark and retrieve. From that point on Homers head looks like it’s attached ...
